Captains of Crush gripper #1 arrived today
Today my #1 Captains of Crush gripper arrived. Some weeks ago, I ordered the “Guide” gripper because I like starting things from scratch and I had no idea how 60 lb resistance feel like. I would not have been a little bit disappointed had I read the product infos first.
There it says:
- Guide: Similar in difficulty to a sporting goods store gripper, but with legendary Captains of Crush quality; for beginners, seniors, rehabilitation patients, as well as weekend warriors who want an easy gripper for a first-set warm-up.
The description is 100% right. So as long as you aren’t a senior, a rehab patient (or a senior rehab patient) I would recommend buying one of the heavier grippers first.
Now, how do 140 lb resistance feel like? The website says:
- No. 1: Here’s where CoC Grippers start to get unusually hard to close; most people who lift weights cannot close this gripper the first time they try, and this is the benchmark gripper for having a good, strong grip. For CoC Trainer graduates; those doing high reps on sporting goods store grippers; people whose grip strength is exceptionally strong from using their hands daily in their work. If your safety depends on your hand strength, you’ll want to get comfortable at this level before moving on
80 lb difference is a big step. However, I would give those a try if you are new to grip training. I haven’t worked on grip (yet), I’m new to this whole Gripworld and I only weigh 145 lb. But that doesn’t mean you can’t make it the first time you try. Here ’s my first attempt:
(Please note our fancy paw blanket in the back. Isn’t that a great view when you stand inside a Power Rack?)
See how I start shaking after a few seconds? It really felt that hard. I could only close the gripper half with my left hand.
I’d love to hear about your experiences with those grippers.

Thank you so very much for putting this online.
